Accessibility
Dickens wants this shop to work for as many customers as possible, including anyone browsing with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or a screen set to high contrast.
Where Dickens stands under the law
The European Accessibility Act, implemented in Malta by the Accessibility Measures (European Accessibility Act) Regulations, S.L. 627.03, exempts a microenterprise providing services from its website accessibility requirements (S.L. 627.03, regulation 4(5), read with the definition of "microenterprise" in regulation 2: fewer than 10 people employed, and an annual turnover or balance sheet total of €2 million or less).
Dickens is a microenterprise, and this exemption applies to this website. We say so plainly, because it is a fact you are entitled to know rather than one to leave unsaid.
What we do anyway
- If something on this site does not work for you, tell us. Email info@dickens.com.mt or telephone +356 2133 3562. The Management handles accessibility reports and replies within 3 working days.
- We take care over product photograph descriptions. Before a product page goes live, management checks it has a written description of the photograph, so a customer who cannot see the image still gets the information in it.
What this statement is not
This is not a claim that every page meets a particular accessibility standard, and Dickens has not set a remediation plan or fix-by dates for every known issue; the exemption above means that is a choice, not a legal requirement. If you tell us something does not work, we will still look at it and get back to you within 3 working days.
