Prices and delivery charges
What you pay
Every price on this site includes VAT at 18%. There is no separate VAT line to add at the end.
Delivery within Malta and Gozo costs €15, one flat charge, no distinction between the two.
Delivery is free when your basket reaches €50 of goods. The €50 is measured on the goods alone, before the delivery charge.
Collection from our shop in Sliema is free.
So the total you pay is:
the goods (VAT included) + delivery, if it applies
and nothing else. No booking fee, no card fee, no handling charge, no packaging charge. We do not add anything for paying by card; passing card fees on to customers is not allowed, and we do not do it. (Regulation 21, S.L. 378.17: a trader may not charge fees for the use of a means of payment that exceed the cost the trader bears for it.)
The €50 line is worth knowing about
At €49 of goods you pay €64. At €50 of goods you pay €50.
One more euro of shopping makes your order €14 cheaper. We would rather tell you that on the basket page than have you find out afterwards, so the basket shows you how much more you need to spend to get free delivery.
Paying
You can pay by:
- Card, through Stripe. Your card is charged when you place the order, not when we ship. See "What happens after you pay" on When your order becomes a contract; it matters, and we set it out there in full.
- Revolut Pay, which runs through the same checkout.
- Cash on delivery, on delivery orders only, for orders up to €2,000. Above €2,000 we cannot take cash and you will need to pay by card. Nothing is taken from you at checkout when you choose cash on delivery; you pay the driver.
When we confirm your order is genuinely in stock
Our shop and this website sell from the same shelf, so paying does not reserve your item; see "What we do not promise" on When your order becomes a contract for the full picture.
If you order while the shop is open (9:30–19:00, Malta time, closed Sundays and public holidays), we aim to confirm within 2 hours that your item is actually on the shelf. If you order while the shop is closed, we confirm by the time we next open.
If it turns out not to be there, you get every cent back automatically, including the delivery charge, to the way you paid. You do not have to ask.
If we cannot work the price out in advance
If something you have ordered cannot be delivered at the normal charge (an oversized item, or an address we do not normally reach), we will not simply add money to your order. We will contact you with the actual cost first, and you can accept it or cancel and be refunded in full.
We will never take an extra payment you have not agreed to. (Regulation 24, S.L. 378.17: the trader must obtain the consumer's express consent to any payment additional to the main price, and consent may not be inferred from a pre-ticked box.)
Prices in euro
All prices are in euro (€). If you pay by card in a different currency, your own bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee. That is between you and your bank, and we do not see it or receive any part of it.
