100-Megapixel BSI CMOS Sensor with ISO 50 and 15.3 Stops of Dynamic Range
The enhanced sensor at the heart of the X2D II 100C delivers 11,656 x 8,742 pixels across a 43.8 x 32.9mm imaging area - approximately 70% larger than a full-frame sensor. The larger pixel area collects more light, producing images with exceptional tonal depth and fine detail that no full-frame system can replicate. ISO 50 native sensitivity is new to the X2D II 100C, extending the usable dynamic range to 15.3 stops - from subtly textured deep shadows to the finest highlight gradations. With 16-bit colour depth representing approximately 281 trillion colours, the camera captures the subtle gradations that bring photographs to life.
HNCS HDR - True End-to-End High Dynamic Range
The X2D II 100C is the world's first medium format camera with true end-to-end HDR processing. HNCS HDR builds on Hasselblad's Natural Colour Solution colour science, extending the colour gamut to the wider P3 space and harnessing the sensor's full dynamic range to prevent overexposure more effectively than conventional photography. Images are captured and processed in-camera as HDR HEIF or Ultra HDR JPEG, ready to review on the camera's 1400-nit OLED screen or on compatible MacBook Pro and iPhone/iPad displays via Phocus Mobile 2. When SDR photography is preferred, a simple menu toggle switches modes. HDR editing is fully supported in Adobe Lightroom Classic 13.0 and later.
AF-C Continuous Autofocus with 425 PDAF Zones and LiDAR
For the first time on a Hasselblad camera, the X2D II 100C features AF-C continuous autofocus powered by deep learning algorithms. Reliably detecting and tracking people, vehicles, cats, and dogs across 425 phase-detection autofocus zones that cover the full sensor surface, it confidently follows subjects through complex movements and challenging light. LiDAR-assisted focusing adds speed and accuracy in low-light and close-focus scenarios, and a dedicated AF illuminator improves AF-S performance in dim conditions while also serving as a self-timer indicator. Beyond the existing Spot focus mode, the X2D II 100C adds Expand Spot, Custom, and Wide modes for complete compositional control.
5-Axis 10-Stop In-Body Image Stabilisation
The X2D II 100C's in-body stabilisation system has been completely redesigned, delivering 10 stops of stabilisation at the image centre and 8 stops at the edges, verified to CIPA standards. This is up to 8 times the stabilisation of the X2D 100C when capturing distant subjects. In practical terms, it enables sharp handheld exposures lasting several seconds - flowing water, night scenes, and available-light interiors can all be captured without a tripod. The system uses GPS location data obtained via Phocus Mobile 2 to compensate for Earth's rotation effects on long exposures, and automatically detects tripod use to optimise compensation accordingly.
3.6-inch OLED Two-Way Tilt Touchscreen with 1400-nit Peak Brightness
The new OLED touchscreen is a fundamental upgrade from the X2D 100C's TFT display. With 1400-nit peak brightness, a wide colour gamut, and true HDR display capability, it shows HDR images exactly as they will appear on a compatible device - no guessing, no surprises in post. The screen tilts up 90° and down approximately 43° and can be pulled out horizontally to stay clear of the EVF during waist-level shooting.
1TB Internal SSD with Up to 2850MB/s Read Speed
The 1TB built-in SSD provides enough storage for thousands of RAW files without any card management. Write speeds of up to 2370MB/s and read speeds of up to 2850MB/s mean the camera never becomes a bottleneck during continuous shooting or file transfer. A CFexpress Type B card slot is available for expanded or backup storage.
Phocus Mobile 2 - HDR Editing and Remote Control on iPhone and iPad
Phocus Mobile 2 connects wirelessly to the X2D II 100C for full HDR image editing on iPhone and iPad, including RAW processing, exposure adjustment, and Hasselblad Natural Noise Reduction (HNNR) - an AI-powered noise reduction that reduces noise without affecting detail or Hasselblad's colour signature. The app can also wake the camera remotely from a powered-off state, transfer images wirelessly without turning the camera on, and perform firmware updates. Phocus Mobile 2 requires iPhone/iPad with at least 3GB RAM running iOS 16.2 or later.
5D Joystick and Up to 8 Custom Buttons
A new 5D joystick beside the touchscreen allows fast focus point selection and intuitive menu navigation without taking your eye from the viewfinder. Two new custom buttons bring the total to eight, all fully assignable to the photographer's preferred functions.
7.5% Lighter Than X2D 100C with Refined Graphite Grey Finish
A redesigned internal structure reduces body weight by 7.5% compared to the X2D 100C (excluding battery and memory card), while a new graphite grey matte coating with black lettering adds a refined, subtle texture and exceptional durability. The redesigned grip provides lasting comfort for long shooting sessions.
Comprehensive Lens Compatibility
The X2D II 100C is compatible with XCD lenses (all current and previous models), HC/HCD lenses via the XH Lens Adapter, V System lenses via the XV Lens Adapter, and XPan lenses via the XPan Lens Adapter. Third-party lens adapters are supported via electronic shutter only. AF-C requires a compatible XCD lens with updated firmware.
